Michelle & Jandrew, a backyard tent wedding full of love

This past August I had the pleasure of photographing Michelle & Jandrew’s lovely and bright wedding day.  I had worked with Michelle’s wonderful family many times in the past, so I knew we would all have a great time working together on their special day, and I couldn’t have been more happy to be asked to spend the day shooting with them.

Michelle and I found out during their engagement session that we have a lot in common, such as our love for Anne of Green Gables, and of course our lovely bookworm princess Belle from Beauty and the Beast 😉  we were able to shoot in a field of milk weeds that day and we talked about going back to the exact spot on their wedding day.  Even though the milk weeds would be gone then, we both had a vision of her in her gown in tall grass, so we knew we had to make that happen, and we were blessed to be able to do so on their sunny wedding day.

I am thrilled to share this beautiful backyard wedding with you today, a wedding filled with love, heart felt details, and all sincerity!  The love Michelle & Jandrew have for each other shone through effortlessly in each and every photo, and I hope you enjoy seeing some of my favourite  images from that day. (And I apologize in advance as my blog is being a little funky and turning the images a touch fuzzy, so I’ve got my tech team (aka hubby) working on that for the next post!)

Michelle was a beautiful and serene bride, and here she is captured saying a prayer before getting into her dress, a quiet moment of thanks and reflection…

Her veil was quite possibly my favourite to date 😉 I know I am not supposed to have favourites, but the vintage feel was simply gorgeous…

She was surrounded by her sisters and special friends, all there to take care of her and gush over her beauty…

Jandrew and the guys were looking smashing as well!

Jandrew’s reaction when he saw his bride was something special, it was hard to only pick one photo of his expressions to share!  Michelle quite literally sang down the aisle towards her groom, and then the smiles started, lot’s and lot’s of smiles!!

I think you can tell they were just a little bit happy to be hitched 😉  and then they fled off in a car for some photos, but not before a kiss in the backseat…

Most of the portraits were taken at the Witchurch Stouffville Museum and property, which was a lovely and versatile location I would definitely recommend.

We were even able to go into one of the old buildings for some special shots…(this is where the Anne of Green Gables-esque feel comes in) 🙂

What a gorgeous and happy wedding party!

Then we got to the field….and to my happy photographers heart, the bride and groom sat down together in the tall grass, just like we had envisioned months before…

The reception was held in Michelle’s parents backyard, under an amazing and huge tent.  It was a backyard wedding dream complete with perfect weather and colourful cupcakes

Thank you to the bride and groom for having me capture your special day, it was a pleasure and I loved being their to witness it!  And a big thanks to my fave second shooter Jenn from Hello Inspira Photography in Toronto for coming along for the day to help me out!
